Dal Mill Machine
A Dal Mill Machine is an agricultural processing unit whose purpose is to process raw pulses into edible split dal by dehusking and polishing the pulses. Dal mills are effective in producing edible pulses with great efficiency and minimal waste and are classed as agricultural food processing units, important to food production and consumption, supporting nutrition and food security, especially in areas of high pulse consumption. Dal mills are used in agro-processing, flour mills, and food processing industries for the processing of pulses (toor, moong, urad, chana, masoor, matar, etc.). Typically, a dal mill can include cleaning, dehusking, splitting, and polishing capabilities to produce quality dal while achieving good levels of recovery and loss performance. In general dal mill machines are built ruggedly out of materials such as mild steel and stainless steel, and they typically are able to operate continuously. The throughput capacity of these machines ranges significantly from 100 kg/hr to over 2 tonnes/hr. Moreover, Dal Mills can be outfitted with emery rollers, sieving devices, and grading devices for uniform total production. More advanced Dal Mills can offer automatic operation, include a three-phase motor, produce no dust, have adjustable settings, provide for processing of diverse pulses, and more; some even have capabilities to produce flour and attachments for removing stones from processed pulses.
